This evidence describes how I would implement strategies for incorporating
bi-cultural approaches at bottom my field as a perspective Alcohol and Drug
Caseworker. Begining understandings and brainstorm to the conformity of
Waitangi. Strategies to support bi-culturalism and responsibilities or
obligations to this in professional practice. This topic is fundamental as this
is hot Zealand and the only place in the solid ground where Maori people are
from and originate, this is their land. It surrounds ethics and beliefs that
are important to Maori. This essay will include in reference to the Treaty
of Waitangi, its history, insight and background leading to today.
Strategies that support bi-culturalism and multi-culturalism in practice
within the alcohol and drug studies sector. This will also include my experience
personal response to the Treaty of Waitangi including the responsibilities
and obligations to bi-cultural practice.





The Treaty
The Treaty of Waitangi is considered to be New Zealands founding
document however since its signing in 1840 it has been an on-going
get-go of engagement due to differences between the versions of English and
Maori aswell as the British failing to honour this agreement. The Treaty
has two texts, one in Maori and one in English and this is the main cause
of conflict between the Maoris and the British. Aside from the problems
that arose from the different versions, both agreements represent Maori
bighearted rights to the British for settlement in turn for full Maori resistance
and citizenship rights.

After the signing of the treaty it was not long in advance Maori people
began to identify that the British werent honouring their part of the deal.
